The West Astrian Alliance was an agreement between the kingdoms of Leoben, Auvais-Chane and Medira. It was formed in 1515 B.E, long after the Vesryne conquest of Saint-Astan had caused tensions to rise across the continent.
Initially only a mutual defence treaty between the two kingdoms of Leoben and Auvais-Chane, it grew stronger with time and expanded its scope greatly. No state on the continental mainland desired war, and it had long been the general opinion of the time that no single state would have the ability to effectively defend against Greater Vesryn and her growing military might.
This line of thinking led to Medira joining the Alliance later in 1542 B.E, seeking assurance that their borders could be kept safe.
Over a period of three years, the states under the alliance would agree to centralise through major reforms, resulting in the creation of West Astria as a singular, more unified kingdom.
